About Dr Carp
Fasting is an ages-old method for restoring health and balance to the body.
Whether you are a veteran faster or looking at it for the first time, Yellowstone Peaks Health and Fasting Retreat will afford you a unique approach and opportunity for healing, no matter what health challenge is being experienced. At the Yellowstone Peaks, guests are led through a program that balances healing, detoxifying, and spiritual rejuvenation.
In Western society, many disease conditions are a result eating large amounts of low nutrient, modified and toxic foods. Unprocessed by-products of these foods build up over time and affect organ function and overall health. When one stops eating, certain predictable reactions occur within the body that allow the breakdown of these by-products.
Many toxic chemicals are stores in the fatty tissues of the body. The presence of these, which do not necessarily create a disease, slow down the operation of the different systems of the body, including the nervous system and the brain, and result in a myriad of conditions, both physical and mental. “Brain fog” is a common condition in today society. Look no farther than chemicals and toxins in the digestive tract and other tissues for the cause of this condition.
During periods of non-eating, the body will consume metabolic by-products that are hanging around in tissues. It will eliminate chemicals, both fat and water soluble, during the fast.
Fatigue is another common problem in today’s society which is a result of toxicity and/or poor nutrient intake. How can one regain more energy by not eating? This is the paradox of fasting. Once the body goes through a program of fasting, even though there has been a shorter or long period of going without nutrient intake, energy and mental focus are always improved.
The body does have limitations on fasting, and everyone is unique in their ability to fast. Condition such as age, weight, overall health condition and specific diseases are a few determinants of fasting. At Yellowstone Peaks, this is determined with the initial consultation.
Often people will say, “I can’t fast, I get too weak.” When asked what they are doing when they fast, they reveal that they are still carrying on normal daily work and activities.
Without rest there is no healing during a fast. When resting, the chi or energy resources of the body goes internal to assist in the detox effects in the body, and the pre-programmed process when food is withdrawn begins. If a person is busy and active while fasting, energy goes to muscle metabolism. This slows down the healing process.
Yellowstone Peaks will allow the faster to go through a relaxed and rejuvenating experience, without extraneous stimuli that detract from the fast.
